I am writing this after nice Sunday supper. Just when I’ve procrastinated my pending projects for a long time. I’ve a magazine to review, 3 redesigns, 3 web projects and a book to write, not to forget the guest post commitments and yes 2 new projects I’ve been working on. I was not at all motivated. And then came the moment of salvation.

Simple question – how do you review the motivation or stay motivated? Simple answer which I seem to have always overlooked – by doing, and diving in. Action is most delicious of experience in leading edge of thought we are living. Go and start writing, go and start thinking, go and think on paper, talk to your friends about it (they might get bored, but what are friends for?), call me and talk to me about it, drop me a mail about it, turn on that camera and make a video about it, upload it on youtube – go ahead in direction of it.

If your mind doesn’t see the result or progress – you will be bored and go unmotivated. Don’t go in details, don’t take the burden – enjoy dude. Have fun. And so is true for everyone that you want to keep motivated.

Show them results, if there are no results – fake them. Yes do that! Because until you can’t fake it, you can’t make it. Say it’s done, say it’s closed even if isn’t but keep that momentum going.

Please don’t get me wrong I am not talking about ‘hard work’ for it is sure shot way to get de-motivated. Go to a enthusiastic teen and whisper ‘hard work’ and you will hear him swear at top of his voice. Go and say ‘progress’, say ‘flow’, ahead, speed, adrenaline, biking, hiking, swimming – oh I love that! Don’t you? It’s the flow it’s the momentum.

So go on and make yourself feel progressing even if you have to lie for the benefit of it is far greater than being right. Be wrong for Christ’s sake, for God’s sake, for your sake. And there it comes – the motivation.

Take it easy, don’t make work out of it. I know you are as good as me in making work out of things but just this once – let it be fun.

PS: Replace motivation by inspiration and reread the article.

Alas! I’ve never read such words anywhere in spiritual or religious literature. And who will ask us to prove ourselves? Them? Ha! We are trying to prove ourselves to them, and they are doing the same. But there is nothing to prove.
Does God want you to prove yourself? Why would he? He knows you better than you. He knows all you were, are, would be and most important – can be.
So are we trying to prove ourselves to ourselves? What’s the point? It’s not about proving. It’s about exploring and expressing. When we stop trying to prove and simply express ourselves. Creativity flows in abundance and we outshine. This way we explore ourselves.
And most important, the whole point behind this is to make us feel good, to experience joy. There is no other motive of life but joy. Be happy and that’s the proof of your success – for that is ultimate achievement and you have it now.

Life suddenly takes a turn and we find ourselves in unmotivated, painful, and boring life. It is like a phase when almost everything is going wrong – from our best friends to workplace or school. We then hope for a miracle to happen. We want it to be over already. We are going through a bad-phase. So Where did it all began and Why? What is it telling us? And where is taking us? When is this phase going to end

“It all starts with a seed, it all starts with a thought.”
-King Sidharth

Catch the Garbage

It often starts with us catching garbage! Someone manifested garbage in their lives, they can’t bear it and like every normal human being they want to share. They throw the garbage at us and we happily catch it. The garbage can be anything ranging from negative comment to advice on how life ‘Should be Lived’ or even noticing negativity. Believe it or not it all starts like this.

Someone says we are too short or too tall, too fat or too thin, too talkative or too silent and we like a good child, believe it and think ‘We are not good enough’. But let me ask you ‘Who the hell are they to tell you that you are not good enough?’

Even if they are your parents, best friend, boss, teacher, religious leader or me; they are no one to set standards for you. You are the one who need to do it. Stop listening to their ‘should list’, even they are not perfect!

But…

I can hear you saying, ‘Then how will I improve?’, ‘How will I know what is wrong with me’ or maybe ‘That would be stubbornness and pride.’ or similar groans.

Then How Will I Improve?
You have tried this method of improving till now. Has it worked? No! It always lands you in the phase where your life becomes hell! So its a big fail.
How will I know what is wrong with me?
That is most funny thing I’ve herd in ages! Why’d you think there is anything wrong with you?
That would be stubbornness and pride.
Yes, Indeed. My answer to this:

That’s it baby, when you got it, flaunt it.
-Mel Brooks (The Producers)

Let me put it another way, or the apple way.

Stop Eating Rotten Apple

Someone is ill because of eating rotten apples and he has got plenty of them. He offers you one saying that you SHOULD eat it. Guess what? We take it! How stupid!

When we are about to eat it, our emotions tell us that it is wrong, we don’t feel good. I’d be stupid to think that it’s us who is rotten not apple. Similarly when you listen to negative comment or one of the classic ‘SHOULDS’ we feel bad, emotions are telling you that there is something wrong with it (not you!) so don’t take it.

But we go one step ahead – we bite the rotten apple! Now our senses repulse and reflex actions want to throw it out. Body is saying ‘It is bad! Throw it out!’. Similarly, we accept those negative comments and classic should and our bodies react. Those headaches, soreness in throats, pains, accidental cuts and Bad Mood is telling you ‘It is bad! Throw it out!’. But we think we are jinxed!

Then we take more bites, and struggle though it. Thinking that easiest way to get rid of apple is to eat it rather than throw it. We think that we are supposed to accept and act on negative comments and classic should rather than throw them away. That is when we hit the bottom, it can’t get any worse.

Now the rotten apple, which we lovingly put in our bodies, is rotting us. It will take it’s time to go out and till that time you will feel bad: upset stomach, food poisoning etc. This is what we know as ‘The Bad Phase’: everything is bad, we feel powerless and helpless. Shouting at God ‘When will it be over?’
And our dear God gives us choice (as he always does). We can keep thinking about ‘The Bad Phase’ and manifest more of it. Or we can stop thinking about it and focus on good things and get over with it.

We Are Perfect

Every cell of our body knows that we are perfect. We do not need to add anything to our bodies, because they are perfect. We cannot put a needle in our bodies because it is not needed. Our bodies can heal, grow and evolve on their own. And if you will force it you will feel pain. It is miraculous.

Same is with us, we do not need others judgment and approval to correct ourselves, improve and evolve. We have inbuilt system for that. And if you will force it, it will hurt as a ‘The Bad Phase’.

“This Englishwoman is so refined; she has no bosom no behind.
-Steve Smith (The Englishwoman)

So you know what to do. Chill, have fun and enjoy. That is what God sent you for.

Before you were here everything was being taken care of, so it is while you are here and so it will be after you.
-King Sidharth

So you know what to do. Enjoy the fresh apples in your garden, share with your neighbours. And if neighbours wants to share his rotten apples say:

Thank you for sharing…
-Louise L Hay

…but I’m content with whatever I have.

How often do you wake up and start making a mental list of your problems? “Assignment deadline coming, girlfriend is angry, running out of medicine, bill payments…” are these morning greetings you for yourself? A friend asked me something today. She said that whenever she tries to do something, she loses in between to problems. By the time end is near, all is mess and she is scared of hurdles and gives up.
I promised to answer her in blog, and here it is. I love this classic quote:

Don’t tell God that you have a big problem; tell problem that you have a big God.

Problems are Good

No problem is big enough to scare us off our goals. In fact, problems are meant to make us goal oriented! Look at it this way, if life was all goody stuff, won’t it be boring? Even fairytale have problems. They are something to be rejoicing about because they tell us that we are moving. They exist so we cloud define success more clearly.

The way we see the problem is the problem
-Stephen R. Covey

It is fine till here, but the real problem comes when we start taking problems more seriously than goals. We indulge so much in problem that we forget what actual cause was.

Stop Manifesting More Problems

We focus so much on problem and give it so much attention that we start offering more of problematic vibrations and then that is what The Law of Attraction brings in more. Like attracts like. Sometimes we even day dream about what worse could happen, and it manifests!
Then we often start feeling worthless and enthusiasm flows away, all the excitement is gone. And we think it is better to leave. And rest of the story is familiar to us. Harder we try to fight, more it comes to us.

What you resist persists.

If you are feeling bad about problem; instead of challenge, passion or so on. STOP RIGHT THERE! You are moving in direction of more problems. Stop thinking about it, stop talking about it, stop writing about it, stop calling everyone you know about because by doing all this you are manifesting more of it. Instead focus on your original goal till you are have your excitement and enthusiasm back! Now, there is no problem.

Laughter is the Best Medicine and Problem Solver

Laugh at your problems; everybody else does.

Changing your feelings about problems is most important again. So put some laughter shows on, watch Robin Williams on YouTube, and watch comedy movies. This will really help.
In nutshell, a problem is a problem till you allow it to exist in your mind. Till you allow your goals to fly out of focus.
So when you wake up tomorrow, say to yourself –

Today is a wonderful day, no matter what.
