It’s 1 December – World Aids Day. This day we will stop for a moment when buying our coffee at Starbukcs, we will stop for a moment while trying to rush to our offices, we will stop for a moment when reading this article and we will share our awareness for a common cause. Even Twitter is Red.
This isn’t a day to fight AIDS, because it’s just a disease. We will not fight a disease. We will not fight a virus or any condition. We will not fight at all. We will be aware in our conscious that we are humans and hence should be treated equal. We ALL are equals – be it HIV+ or not, be it AIDS patient or not.
I have friends who are HIV+, I don’t meet them as patients – doctor does that enough, I don’t meet them as suffer of disease or carrier of a deadly virus – science is doing that. I am human, I see and meet them as humans. And that’s the whole purpose of the World Aids Day that no matter what, I will be human to humans – not a devil.
I will not support HIV in killing another human, I will support a human to live a great life. I will not see them with suspicious eyes, I will not see them as different from me. I will see them as they are – perfect in every way. I will rejoice in their happiness and support them in sorrows.
Today and forever, I will be a Human.
